Something for the long weekend.

Ya you well know it the August bank holiday weekend here in Ireland anyway for all you lucky to have it off it mean 3 day weekend. Now most people will be doing a lot of driving and i present to you my latest project the great travel CD.
That right there nothing more important in a car journey or road trip then a great soundtrack to listen to as you drive make the whole trip that much better.

I have been working on one and finally it is perfected. I know what our saying a buit professor a mixed CD is easy to make pick a few track and burn them to a CD. I'm am afraid that is wrong. The art to making a great driving CD is best summed up by John Cusack in the movie high Fidelity. If you never seen it please do go see it it fantastic movie.

1)Consider your intended audience.

2)Consider whether you want the mix to convey a certain emotion or message. Pick music that you like and appreciate. How much you enjoy making the mix will be apparent in the final package.

3)Don't always focus on a genre and a theme. Putting widely different tracks in a compilation can add contrast for the listener.

4)Be flexible. Collect a set of tracks as a rough draft for the CD with the expectation you may decide not to include some of them.

5)VERY IMPORTANT!
Play around with the arrangement of the tracks. Think of the mix tape as a prolonged listening experience. You don't want the listener to get bored or skip songs. The first few tracks should grab the listener and get their attention. Group slower or softer songs together and then gradually build up momentum to more upbeat songs. A fast/heavy song might not go well after a soft, acoustic one.

6)Finalize your track arrangement and listen to the version a few times, making necessary adjustments. Feel free to remove some tracks and add others. It's possible that you may realize new tracks you'd like to add late in the process.

7)Burn the CD that you will make copies from, now that you're happy with the compilation. If you've been using MP3s, keep a specific folder for your mix and name it appropriately.

Well that the idea while it should be a bit of work you should also enjoy it i take a lot of passion in my music and things like this are something i love to do.

Here is the listing of the tracks on the CD now they may not all be to your taste but then again you never know.
I will list them in order that they appear on the CD and gave reason why i picked them.
